Through the month of June, the 12U Morris softball team already has two tournaments under their belts, finishing second in both. The team started at the Watertown-Mayer Tournament June 6-7, finishing the tournament 4-1. Morris was back in action at the Becker Blast Freedom Days tournament June 20-21 and finished 3-2 to be the runner-up in the Silver Division. 

The team started off their summer season at the Watertown-Mayer tournament. In pool play, Morris finished 2-1. They beat Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted in walk-off fashion 7-6 off an Irelynn Huebner single, playing up from the 10U team. Next, the team fell to Blue 12U by a score of 7-2 after Morris failed to record a hit in the game. Morris bounced back in their final pool play game, taking down New Prague Red 12U with an 11-5 win behind a two-hitter pitched by Harper Gausman. In bracket play, the Tigers cruised in their first matchup with a 15-2 win in four and a half innings against Waconia Black. In the finals, it was another walk-off against Watertown-Mayer off a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the seventh to earn a 4-3 win in the championship game.

Two weeks later, Morris went on the road to Becker for the Becker Blast Freedom Days Tournament. The Tigers started off on Saturday with two wins and a loss in pool play. The team started with a 13-3 win over Storm 12U. The only loss of the day for Morris came against Becker Blast White when they fell 10-1. Morris got back on the winning track with a 15-4 win over Monticello in a shortened game due to the 10-run rule. The next day, Morris started off bracket play with a 9-2 win over St. Francis Blue. In the championship game of the Silver Division, Morris fell to St. Michael-Albertville Blue in a competitive game by a score of 12-10 to put the Tigers in second place.
