Al Seiferman

Aloys “Al” Seiferman, 84 of New London, died unexpectedly Monday, February 26, 2024. The celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. at the New London American Legion.  Private graveside services will be held at St. Boniface’s Catholic Cemetery in Cold Spring. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London.            

Aloys Seifermann was born on October 15, 1939 in Spring Hill, the son of Martin and Anna (Eichers) Seifermann.  He grew up in Spring Hill and attended country grade school.  As a young man he moved to St. Cloud and later Clearwater where he managed a liquor store for many years.  On April 17, 1971, Al was united in marriage to Beverly Stumpf in Clearwater. This union was blessed with one son, Ryan.   They later made moved to western Minnesota where he owned and operated restaurants in Cyrus, Chokio and Alberta before beginning working as a chef with the Villa of St. Francis Nursing Home and the U of M Morris.  He retired in 2011 and moved to New London where he worked for McKale’s Restaurant and Catering until 2023.

Al was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Spring Hill, Elrosa Senior Citizens and the Elks Club. While living in Cyrus and Chokio he served as a volunteer firefighter. He enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, trips to the casino, going out to eat, coffee with friends and traveling with Ryan.

Al is survived by his son, Ryan (Karl) Seifermann; sisters-in-law, Louise Seifermann and Jane Seifermann and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by siblings, Loretta Seifermann, Sylvester Seifermann, Margaret Dingmann, Roman Seifermann, Herb Seifermann, Celestine Seifermann, Theresa Wuertz, Martin Seifermann and Joe Seifermann.
