Memorial services for Ardelle Anderson Rohloff of Morris, Minnesota, formerly of Donnelly, Minnesota, will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Morris, with Reverend Emmy Swedlund officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will take place at Summit Cemetery in Morris, Minnesota.
Ardelle Mildred Norman, daughter of James Henry and Ruth (Getz) Norman, was born September 9, 1928 in Roseville Township, Grant County, Minnesota. She went to school at district 2 and district 41 country schools, and went on to the West Central School of Agriculture, graduating in 1947. She worked at Morris State Bank for five years. During that time, she met Clayton Anderson. They were married on April 28, 1954 at Lands Lutheran Church in Hoffman, Minnesota. They were blessed with four children: Calvin, Gail, Kay and Jan. Ardelle was a stay-at-home mom and helped Clayton with farming. Clayton passed away June 27, 1982 after a battle with cancer. Ardelle continued to live on the farm for a few years. One night at a dance, Ardelle met Wayne Rohloff and they were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 17, 1987. They bought a home in Morris, and had two special dogs: Buddy and Mitzi. They enjoyed gardening and had many flowers. Ardelle worked with Wayne at West Central Homes. After many happy years together, Wayne passed away August 14, 2010. Ardelle continued to live at West Central Homes after Wayne’s passing and later moved to The Legacy where she continued to live until the time of her death.
Ardelle was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She loved playing bridge, bowling and dancing. She also enjoyed playing bingo, puzzles and traveling. Her favorite trip was to Hawaii.
Ardelle passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at The Legacy in Morris, Minnesota. She was 95 years old.
She is survived by three children: Calvin (Cheryl) Anderson of Alexandria, Kay (Gene) Hacker of Hancock and Jan (Tim) Wagener of Minneapolis; son-in-law: Tom Hoffman of Eden Prairie; nine grandchildren: Andria LaFollette, Brian (Gwen) Hoffman, Rachel Hoffman, Gretchen (Martin) Shervey, Karla (Corey) Sundheim, Brendan (Vanessa) Hacker, Nathan (Rachel) Hacker, Jack Wagener and Aaron Wagener; eleven great-grandchildren: Leif, Matthew and Katelyn Shervey, Peyton and Adelyn Sundheim, Daxton, Gabrielle and Elliana Hacker, Lacey, Clayton and Rhett Hoffman; two sisters: Betty Anderson of Hoffman and June Sibell of Farmington; four step-children: Lanny (Linda) Rohloff, Lowell (Cindy) Rohloff, Connie (Steve) Berg and LuAlan (Shawn) Rohloff; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Clayton Anderson and Wayne Rohloff; daughter: Gail Hoffman; siblings: Dorothy Engel, Ruth Christensen, William Norman, James Norman and Howard Norman; step-son: Larry Rohloff and step-daughter: Bonnie Weiler.
