Annette Watson has filed for mayor of Morris and will be running against incumbent Mayor Kevin Wohlers.

There are four candidates running for four-year terms on the Morris City Council but only two four-year seats will be on the ballot. The two candidates with the most votes will win seats. 

The candidates are Timothy Lindberg, James R. Stoker, Brad Zimmel, and incumbent Jeff M. Miller.

Brad Dahlen is the only candidate seeking the open two-year term on the council.

Last March, he was named to fill the seat of Zach Kroells who resigned with nearly three years remaining in his four-year term. The person elected to this seat will fill out the two remaining years in the term. 

Kroells had resigned, Miller said, due to the demands of the time required by his council service and his job, both of which took time away from his family.

Council Member Brian Solvie did not file for reelection.

Also serving on the council is Kim Gullickson whose term doesn’t end until Dec. 31, 2028.

Hancock City Council

Jason W. Burden and Brady Koehl have filed to serve as the next mayor of Hancock. Current Mayor Bruce Malo did not file for reelection to another two-year term.

Wayne Gillespie and Byron Koehl have filed for a seat on the Hancock City Council.  Council members serve four-year terms. Council Member Jeff Kisgen did not file for reelection.

Annette Kratz and Bob Staples will continue serving on the council with two years remaining in their four-year terms.
