Stevens County Human Services Child Support Officer

Then Stevens County is looking for YOU, a person with a positive attitude and exceptional customer service skills to perform paralegal functions related to the establishment and enforcement of child support orders for public assistance and non-public assistance clients.

Three years’ experience as an Eligibility Worker or the equivalent in a public human services agency or four years’ experience in collections work outside of a county social services setting; or three years of college with emphasis in criminal justice, public administration, business administration, paralegal, social work, psychology, sociology, or related human services field is preferred but not required.  Experience may be substituted for education and education may be substituted for experience in order to meet the qualifications.  Two years of experience as a Support Enforcement Aide or Collections Officer with responsibility of carrying out a part of child support collections preferred.  Other preferred skills are interviewing, case management, negotiating and working well with others with exceptional customer service skills.  Extensive on-the-job training is provided!

WAGE AND BENEFITS

2021 starting wage range is: $20.67 – $26.97, depending upon qualifications.  $800 monthly cafeteria contribution for group health insurance, dental, vision, life, disability, hospital, critical illness and accident insurance.  Generous vacation/sick leave accrual and 7.5% Employer contribution to PERA retirement plan.
