In total, two MACA golfers made their way through the section competition to qualify for the Class AA state tournament as individuals. The two players include Katlin Gibson and Charlie Hanson for his fifth straight trip to state. 

Hanson finished even par through 36 holes with a 75 on the first day and a 69 on the second day to place third with 144 and punch his ticket to state. The first day of the tournament is set for Tuesday, June 10 at Ridges at Sand Creek and Hanson will tee off at 1:08 p.m. with Carter White from Staples-Motley, Ryan Nutter from La Crescent-Hokah and Jonathan Bigwood from Mounds Park Academy.

Gibson fired an 89 and 91 for a total of 180 and was the last individual to qualify for the girls, and finished 10th, just one shot clear of the cutline. Gibson will get started June 10 with the first tee time of the day at 7:30 a.m. off the first tee and will play with Vivian Brockberg from Pipestone Area and Neelah McLeod from Proctor-Esko.
