A Hancock woman faces felony and gross misdemeanor drug charges after law enforcement allegedly found methamphetamine and cocaine in a home with two infants present.

Judy Ann Birr, 38, of Hancock, was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 21 after members of the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force executed a search warrant at an apartment on the 90 block of Washington Avenue, in Hancock.

According to the complaint, officers found Birr and two small children – one approximately one month old, the other born February 2025 – inside the residence.

Agent Jared Danielson allegedly found a purse containing a small plastic baggie with 0.18 grams of a substance that tested positive for cocaine. On a nightstand, Agent Josiah Puckett allegedly located a digital scale that tested positive for methamphetamine, multiple baggies, a makeup container holding a line of crystalline substance, multiple snort tubes and a dollar bill with white powder on it. The crystalline substance, weighing 0.08 grams, tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the complaint.

After being advised of her rights, Birr allegedly admitted to using methamphetamine the night before and said the cocaine had been a birthday gift.

She is charged with one felony count of storing methamphetamine paraphernalia in the residence of a child and two gross misdemeanor counts of fifth-degree drug possession.

Birr was released with conditions Jan. 23. A Rule 8 initial appearance was scheduled for Monday, Feb. 2 in Stevens County District Court.
