The Kandiyohi County Fair held in Willmar hosted rodeo events Aug. 7-8. Local Chokioan Bryce Hardy competed in the National Federation of Professional Bullriders events and won the buckle on the second night after two successful rides. 

On the first night of competition, Hardy finished with 79 points to land in fourth place, 12 points behind the winner, to take home $767. 

On night two, Hardy won the competition with two rides to 160 total points to take home the top prize.

Through Aug. 13, Hardy is ninth in the Federation Cup Standings, earning $8,329 to date.

Hardy also recently earned his spot as a Junior National Finals Rodeo qualifier. The Jr. NFR will be held Dec. 3-12 at the Wrangler Rodeo Arena at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Hardy, along with 700 other participants, will compete for more than $1 million in cash and prizes and a chance to win Montana Silversmiths belt buckles.
