With just one game on the schedule for the MACA girls last week, they were at home for their second home game of the year when the Osakis Silverstreaks came to Morris Dec. 12. MACA struggled to get anything going on the offensive end and the Silverstreaks handed the Tigers their second loss of the season 50-29.

It was a defensive start for both teams. MACA went the first six minutes of the game without scoring and didn’t have their first field goal until they had played eight minutes. Luckily, the MACA defense did enough during that time and only trailed 6-3 with 10 minutes left in the half. Osakis stayed in front for the rest of the first half and held a 19-9 advantage at the break.

The gap continued to grow in the second half, but the lid also came off the rim a bit for both teams. Osakis outscored MACA 31-20 in the final half to secure the 21-point win over the Tigers.

MACA struggled against the Silverstreak defense, finishing the game 10 for 38 from the floor and 0 for 9 from behind the three-point line. 

Mylie Fehr led the team in scoring with seven points and added nine rebounds and three blocks. Ryla Koehler added six points, Chloe Fehr had four and Mia Lu Asche and Olivia Huebner each had three.

The team was back on the road against the Albany Huskies Dec. 16. Next on the schedule, MACA will be at home against BOLD Thursday, Dec. 18.
