After two weeks of practice, the MACA cross country team was finally able to get their competition season started with their home Marv Meyer Invitational at Pomme De Terre Golf Course in Morris Aug. 31.

Neither the boys or the girls had enough runners to compete at the varsity level as a team. Melrose won the boys team meet and Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd won the girls team meet.

The MACA girls had two runners competing as individuals. Anna Boyle picked up where she left off a season ago, finishing in second place with a time of 20:46. Elizabeth Boyle also competed for the Tigers and finished 30th with a time of 28:31.

Wesley Richards led the boys as the only Tiger in the top-10, finishing ninth in 19:38. Casey Raths came in 21st with 20:56, Wesley Odello came in 30th with 21:48 and Samuel Enberg’s time of 22:58 put him in 38th.

The Tigers were back in action Sept. 3 at the Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd meet in Appleton. Next on the schedule, MACA will travel to Holdingford to join 14 other teams Thursday, Sept. 10.
