The Tiger cross country team had a pretty light week, with just one competition. That one meet proved to be packed with some really competitive runners when they traveled to Melrose September 19. Hailey Werk was the highest finisher for the girls and boys teams in 18th place.
The Tiger girls finished the meet in 15th place out of 15 teams with 308 points. Breckenridge/Wahpeton was the top team with just 80 points.
Werk was the best runner for the Tigers in 18th with a time of 22:04.67. Next for MACA was Anya Fehr in 60th with a time of 24:51.32. Lisa Bardet placed 73rd, clocking in at 25:58.21, Hana Schutz was 77th with a time of 26:20.54 and Alayna Perkins crossed in 80th with a time of 26:40.12. Macy Seales and Avery Waterworth finished in 83rd and 85th, respectively.
For the boys, MACA finished 14th out of 14 teams with 368 points. Pequot Lakes was the winning team for the boys with 54 points.
The top two runners for the Tigers were Truett Richards and Ethan Koehler. Richards was first to cross the line in 64th with a time of 21:41.65 and Koehler was just a half-second behind in 65th. Grady Stallman crossed the line in 69th with a time of 21:53.11, Carlos Rivera crossed in 22:27.84 for 82nd and Wesley Richards finished 95th with a time of 24:29.88. Aaron Baker and Noah Cegla finished 97th and 98th, respectively.
The Tigers were off for nearly a week before returning to action in Ortonville Monday, September 25. The next meet for MACA will be Tuesday, October 3 at Sauk Centre.
