I wish to thank the Stevens County Fair Board for canceling the 2020 County Fair. I know it was not an easy decision. But, this is another example of how our local officials are making wise decisions to protect the health of everyone in our community!
There is an additional way in which we all, as individuals, can help protect the health of everyone in our communities. And that is to Vote by Mail!
This year our right to vote is endangered as the coronavirus pandemic appears to be increasing as we approach November. We don’t want to endanger our volunteer voting-site workers. We don’t want to endanger each other by gathering in crowded, closed spaces.
There is a way to vote safely, and that is to Vote by Mail!
Voters need to apply early (by Oct. 13) for a vote by mail ballot. It’s easy. Just send an email request to: https://mnvotes.sos.state.mn.us/ABRegistration/ABRegistrationStep1.aspx. (If you are not registered to vote, the above contacts will also send you a registration application.)
Voting by mail is safe, dependable, and well protected. Even President Trump votes by mail. We need to follow his example on this.
