Reed Neset-Greiner

Reed Neset-Greiner, 25, of Stanley, ND, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at his home in Stanley, ND.

Reed was born on October 26, 1998, in Minot, ND, to Stacey Neset and Kyle Greiner. Reed grew up in Stanley, ND, and Tioga, ND with his mother and Morris, MN with his father. After graduating from Stanley High School in 2017, he attended Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks, MN, graduating with a degree in construction electricity. While attending college he worked at Revolutions Power Sports and Marine. After graduation, he moved to Bismarck, ND where he worked at Magnum Electric before returning to Stanley to attend the wind energy technician training program obtaining multiple certifications in the wind energy field which led to his employment with NextEra Energy. He then went to work for NESET as a reliability operator at Hess. He was a hard worker and enjoyed all of the jobs he had. He made many friends through his work and the schools he attended.

Reed lived his life like there was no tomorrow. He was fearless and bold, always saying his wild ideas would be “fine”. As a kind-hearted soul, he loved every dog he met but none as much as the two he rescued; Henry and Hope. As an avid outdoorsman, he had a passion for fishing and hunting; always looking forward to his excursions with his father. Some of his favorite adventures include the Canadian fishing trips with the Greiner clan and any time spent at his grandparents lake in Vining, MN. Starting his love of speed at a young age, Reed enjoyed go-kart racing and dirt bike riding, which led him to one of his proudest moments of purchasing his beloved motorcycle. When not seeking the thrill of his latest adventure, he spent his downtime listening to audiobooks, playing PS5, and reading while hanging out at home with his dogs.  Some of his favorite things to do were spend time with his family in both Minnesota and North Dakota, pursue his passion with guns and ride his motorcycle and snowmobile. He loved spending time with his friends, which was where he came up with most of his crazy ideas. With a smile and laughter that lit up any room he entered, he made an impression everywhere he went, keeping everyone entertained and laughing. Reed loved to tease and joke, especially when he had the chance to wrestle his little brother, Conner. He had a special bond with both of his grandmothers, Bev and Marcia, mentioning often how much he loved them. Reed was an innovative thinker and he loved tearing things apart to see how they worked or to fix them, and sometimes even putting them back together.

Reed is survived by his parents, Stacey Neset and Kyle (Katie) Greiner; brother, Conner Powers; grandmothers, Beverly Neset of Stanley, ND and Marcia Greiner of Vining, MN; uncles, Jerry (Jennifer) Neset of Ross, ND, and Kory (Dorothy) Greiner of Black Duck, MN; and aunt, Kim (Dean) Diers of Isanti, MN; cousins, Aaron, Andrew, Lane (Skyeleanna), Logan, Lexi, Grace, Emma, Leila, and Paul.

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Kelly Greiner; and his grandfathers, Douglas Neset and Dale Greiner both of whom he loved and admired.

A funeral is planned to be held April 24th in Stanley, ND where Reed will be laid to rest. A local celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 8th in Morris, MN at the American Legion from 3:00 – 6:00. In lieu of memorials, the family would prefer donations to local organizations in support of youth hunting and fishing.
