Every varsity runner on the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta cross country teams improved their time at the Melrose triangular Thursday, Sept. 3. The Tigers finished with 70 points in the triangular against Minnewaska and Melrose.
The Tigers were scheduled to run against Lac qui Parle Valley Friday, Sept. 11, but a member of the LQPV cross country team tested positive for COVID-19 at the beginning of September.
After consulting with the Minnesota Department of Health on Wednesday, the teams have been recommended to remain quarantined until Friday, Sept. 18.
“It’s unfortunate,” LQPV athletic director Tony Smith told the West Central Tribune. “Our kids aren’t able to compete the rest of this week, but hopefully through the process, we’ll be able to move forward.”
