Freshman Anna Backman improved her season best in two cross country meets for the Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta girls team to help the Tigers finish in first place at both meets.
Backman ran her debut on varsity on Sept. 14, in Morris where she ran a 25:20 5K. From the Sept. 14 meet, Backman has dropped over a minute on her season best.
In a second Morris meet on Sept. 21, Backman ran a 24:45, good for ninth at the meet, and then finished in sixth place at the Lac qui Parle Valley / Dawson-Boyd meet Thursday, Sept. 24 and posted a season best time of 24:19.3.
