Hancock teams open up season with wins

Both Hancock boys and girls basketball teams opened up the 2021 winter season with wins Saturday, Jan. 16. The boys topped CGB 77-29, in Hancock, while the girls also dominated in a 70-36 win against Wheaton/Herman-Norcross, in Wheaton.

The Owl boys story headlined “Matt ‘Mismatch’ Thompson fashions Hancock a season opening win includes full game stats and quotes from junior Matt Thompson, senior Preston Rohloff and Owl head coach Cory Bedel. The Owls, 1-0, next play at Parkers Prairie Monday, Jan. 18 and then against Wheaton / Herman-Norcross at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, in Hancock.

The Hancock girls story headlined “Hard work pays off as Owl girls win season opener” includes full game stats and quotes from senior Lexi Staples and Owl head coach Tony Thielke.

The Owls, 1-0, open up the home season against Ortonville at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, in Hancock. They close out the week against Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, in Hancock.
