ST. PAUL, Minn. – University of Minnesota Morris freshman Briahna Hensel was named the UMAC Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week on Monday after a great performance at the Dan Conway Classic last Thursday.
Running on the course that will host the UMAC Cross Country Championships next month, Hensel turned in the fourth-fastest time in school history in a 5k with a time of 19:17.2. That topped everyone in the field from UMAC programs and was good for seventh overall in the race.
Hensel has been the top finisher for the Cougars in both races to start off the 2021 cross country season. UMN Morris continues its season on Sept. 18 with the St. Olaf Invitational in Northfield, Minn. The women’s race starts the day at 10 a.m. and the men follow at 11 a.m.
