Ethan Sperr, Brandon Jergenson and Derek Giese look on from the home dugout during an intersquad game June 25, in Morris.
With the American Legion cancelling the Junior Legion and Legion baseball seasons in early May due to COVID-19, Kirby Sayles along with other area coaches decided to put together a pod of teams to compete.
“There will be no affiliation with the American Legion. Everything will be independent,” Sayles said of the pod of teams that plans to begin play around July 8.
The two Morris 18U squads have been playing intersquad games every Tuesday and Thursday and will continue to do so until games begin.
