The boards from the Lee Community Center were originally used in the Mariucci Arena and came to LCC when the building was built back in 1994.
The original plan for these boards was to utilize them for an outdoor hockey rink at LCC, “But we had a great opportunity with a buyer that has a plan to put these to great use this winter already,” Morris Hockey Association President Jordan Staples said.
“We are excited to see their life live on! We had these in our arena for 25 years, but prior to that they were in the Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis in 1995. These boards have seen a lot of hockey and will continue to at their next home. We hope to continue to look at options to someday again provide outdoor skating to our community.”
The boards will be heading to the City of Milwaukee to be used for an outdoor skating rink.
