The undefeated Hancock Owl football team was no match for Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley, which was just released from quarantine last Friday. Without practice or games for two weeks, the Wolverines struggled to get anything going against a now 5-0 Owl team after a 58-0 shutout over C-G-B.
“We were fired up and ready to go after hearing that we found a team to play for Homecoming,” Owl senior quarterback Preston Rohloff said.
The Owl – CGB game was originally scheduled for Friday, Nov. 6 and cancelled when the Wolverines went into quarantine two weeks ago.
“I emailed every nine-man team in the state and no one wanted to play us,” head coach Chad Christianson said of trying to find a replacement game. “I’m just glad CGB wanted to play Saturday.”
