The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tiger football team will be tested this season. With the section and district realignment this summer, the Tigers were bumped up from Section 5AA to Section 6AAA for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
“We just barely got bumped to that three-A grouping, but we’re ready for the challenge,” eighth-year head coach Kevin Pope said. “Our schedule is all new. We are playing mostly three-A schools… The two two-A schools that we do play are pretty tough, they are bigger two-A schools, which matches who we are.”
This group of seniors have already seen success in both football and basketball last season, it will definitely be exciting to watch what this group can do in its final high school sports seasons. The Tigers kick off the 2021 football season at Howard Lake-Waverly Thursday, Sept. 2 and then host Montevideo Friday, Sept. 10, at Big Cat Stadium in Morris.
