The University of Minnesota Morris indoor track & field teams have posted their schedule for the 2021-22 season. The Cougars will compete in six meets, building up to the UMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at the end of February.
The season begins for Minnesota Morris on December 4, with the team heading to Minnesota State University-Mankato for the Chuck Petersen Open.
Following Winter Break, the season picks back up on January 22 with UMN Morris going up to Moorhead for the Cobber Open, hosted by Concordia College (MN). A week later, the Cougars trek north again, this time to the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks for the UND Open.
The month of February begins with Minnesota Morris heading to Bethel University in Arden Hills on Feb. 5 to take part in the Gene Glader Classic. A week later, the Cougars will be at Saint John’s on February 12 for the SJU Invitational. The final meet before the conference championships takes the team back to North Dakota for the UND Tune Up on February 19.
This year’s UMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Superior on February 25-26. The Cougar women’s squad will be looking to retain its conference title after claiming it for the first time in 2021.
The month of March will have select members of the team taking part in a last chance meet hosted by Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa on March 4-5. If the Cougars have any national qualifiers, they will be in action on March 11-12 at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C.
