With Hancock High School’s Homecoming within reach, coronation will be Monday, September 28th, at 7 pm in the main gym. We have eight cheerfully bright candidates to represent our school. Each possible king and queen is involved in many Hancock activities.
Haylee Flaten and Cruise Millette are the candidates elected by the senior class. Haylee, daughter of Justin and Carrie Flaten, is on the volleyball team. Haylee participates in BPA and takes stats for the boys’ baseball and basketball teams. Haylee plans on going to college for an elementary teacher degree after high school.
Cruise, son of Phill and Kaci Millette. He is involved in football, basketball, and track. Cruise is a football commit to Minnesota State University of Moorhead and will be a dragon majoring in physical education next fall.
The junior class elected Issac Messner and Mishayla Mattson. Issac is the son of Kristi Messner and is involved in football, FFA, and trap-shooting. Issac has seven siblings: Dawn, Brandi, Trent, Troy, Damon, Jacob, and Amy. He plans to work at Pro Steel after high school.
Mishayla, daughter of Mark and Lori Mattson, has five older sisters: Sabrina, Ashlynn, Haley, Lindsey, Rylie, and one younger brother, Eli. She is involved in volleyball, softball, and BPA and also takes stats for boys’ basketball. Mishayla plans on getting her nursing degree after high school.
The sophomore candidates are Gunnar Curfman and Tessie Sproul. Gunnar Curfman, son of Damon and Kay Curfman, has two brothers named Donovan and Tanner. Gunnar is in football and baseball, and he’s taking college classes right now. Gunnar plans on going to college and getting into sales.
Tessie Sproul is the only daughter of Ryan and Kristen Sproul. Tessie is in volleyball, BPA, choir, and band and does stats for the boys’ baseball and basketball teams. Tessie plans on attending college and receiving an elementary teaching degree.
The freshman elected Faith Naig and Preston Fuecht. Faith is the daughter of Erica and John Naig. She has two sisters, DeLaynie and Cora, and a younger brother named Sam. Faith is in softball, BPA, choir, and band, and takes stats for the girls’ basketball team. Faith plans to go to college for a dental assistant degree.
Preston is the son of Perry and Jewell Fuecht. He has a twin sister named Payton and three older siblings: Sam, Micheal, and Erick. Preston is in basketball, track and field, choir, and band. Preston has a promising season this spring, where he hopes to make another appearance at the state track and field meet.
We hope the community comes out to the coronation on Monday, September 28, to see these beautiful young faces and who will be this year’s homecoming queen and king.
