Thomas Lee Johnson of Morris, Minnesota passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, July 8th surrounded by family in Goodhue, Minnesota.
Tom was born in Litchfield, Minnesota on May 4, 1952, to Marvin and Dorothy Quanbeck Johnson. He graduated from Osseo High School in 1970, and from St. Olaf College in 1974. He received his PhD in experimental cognitive psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1983. He taught at the University of Calgary for several years after which he became a psychology professor at the University of Minnesota, Morris for 35 years from 1986 – 2021. In 1991, Tom was awarded the Walter D. Mink Undergraduate Teaching Award from the Minnesota Psychological Association.
Tom enjoyed teaching his students, playing golf, participating in outdoor activities, playing and listening to music and spending time with his family.
He is survived by many loving family members and friends.
