Tiger 14U baseball completes incredible run at state

The Morris 14U baseball team captured the Minnesota Sports Federation 14U AAA State Tournament Championship this past weekend, in Austin. The Tigers won three games on Sunday, July 24 by beating Woodbury 6-5, Marshall 7-0 and then beating Rogers/Otsego 13-2 in the Championship game.

This championship victory puts an exclamation point on a five-year run winning first or second place at state.

The Tigers took second at 10UAA State in 2018, first at 11UAA State in 2019, second at 12UAAA State in 2020, second at 13UAAA State last summer before being named champions at 14UAAA State this past weekend.

“An unbelievable run for a small town in West Central MN,” coach Tate Jerome said. “There are two classes of State Tournaments for MSF: AA and AAA. This means Morris Area/C-A has played and beat the likes of Edina, Rodgers, Minnetonka, Brooklyn Park, Marshall, etc.”
